The Early Settler Ride - 1 Day Tour
Journey through Section B of the Hauraki Rail Trail. Take a moment to stop at the Kopu shelter, where you'll get a glimpse into the fascinating of the Historic Kopu Bridge, a one-way bridge which was operational all the way up until 2011 when the new Kopu Bridge was completed.
Continue on the trail until you reach the Matatoki Cheese Barn, known for their award-winning cheeses and delicious ice creams for a yummy morning tea stop. (Please note The Cheese Barn is closed on Mondays; an alternative will be offered)
After your refreshing morning tea hop back onto the trail the next stop at the Historical Maritime Museum and Park located shortly before Paeroa.(Entry into the museum included) Take your time to explore the rich boat heritage.
Once you have finished at the Maritime Museum, make the short ride into Paeroa where you'll have lunch at one of the local cafes.(Meal voucher is included). Paeroa, appropriately nicknamed the 'Antique Town' as it is home to many quirky antique shops. Perhaps the town is more famously known as the birthplace of the beloved fizzy drink L&P, of which a large sculpture sits on the roadside. (A photo in front of the big L&P bottle is a must) After a lovely day out you'll be transported back to Thames.
